Amsterdam and Barcelona

What a fantastic trip! Free beer, wine, and liquor is the way to start a trip when you are riding in a plane for 9 hours! When we finally arrived to Amsterdam it was 8:00am their time, but 1am Houston time. Unfortunately, it was cold and rainy when we arrived, but that wasn't going to stop us, we had lots to do in one day. We checked into our hotel, which was 100m away from the Van Gogh Museum, then headed straight to the Anne Frank House. After the Anne Frank house we walked by the red light district. I can't believe that prostitutes waiting for business in windows is legal. After seeing the "coffee shops" and red light district, it makes me wonder why Amsterdam is not called Sin City, Vegas has nothing on Amsterdam. Our last stop before heading back to the hotel for a quick cat nap was the Heineken factory. It was amazing to see how the beer is made, to go through a 4D "ride", and to taste three beers. After having our nap we went by the Amstel Hotel and sat on the terrace for a couple of drinks then went out for a nice dinner. Then it was off to bed for our early departure to Barcelona. That morning we were very lucky to get upgraded to first class where we had an amazing breakfast.

Since we arrived in Barcelona by 9am we checked into our hotel, and headed straight to the beach. Wow, who knew that all of Barcelona's beaches were nudist beaches. Woman had no shame being topless and men had no shame strutting around in their speedos. Our second day of being in Barcelona we did an amazing four hour segway tour. Edgar was our tour guide and he was amazing and he was so knowledgeable of the city. While we were in Barcelona it was best to get around the city in a moped. I felt like we got to see so much more of the city in the moped. We also went and saw two of Antonio Gaudi's pieces of work, Casa Mila and La Sagrada La Familia. He is an amazing architect and I can't believe someone in the 1800's could think of the designs he drew for these astonishing buildings. Along the beach there is this really cool bar called Ice Barcelona. Everything in the bar is made of ice including the table, chairs, and your glasses you drink your drink out of. When you enter they give you a jacket and gloves because it's so cold in there. We also made sure to eat lots and lots of tapas and drink lots and lots of sangria while in Barcelona. We had a great last finishing touch to our trip by going on a catamaran jazz cruise with lots of sangria. Our trip was romantic, adventurous, and unforgettable and I can't wait for our next European adventure.

Good times at Lake Conroe

What a relaxing break it is to drive 30 minutes north and take a mini vacation and chill out in Conroe. We really do enjoy all the fun amenities Lake Conroe and Walden have to offer. I'm so sad to think it's already July and the summer is flying by. Fourth of July was fun trying to entertain 6 teenagers. They ate a lot, wanted to ride the jet skiies, the boat, the boat with a tube, the golf cart, it was seriously non-stop. Brian and I literally didn't stop entertaining until they were leaving to go back to Sugar Land and we waved them goodbye in the drive way. We defintely had a good time though and played catch phrase, LRC, and of course truth or dare. Even though I enjoy Conroe, I can most certainly wait to have my siblings and their friends back up to visit.

An unforgettable girls trip

Wow, what a fun, scary, happy couple of days. Our trip statred out leaving from Sugar Land and we were on our way to New Braunfels, Texas. We had sunshine, floating the river, wine vineyards, drinking, and shopping in Gruene all on our to do list. We couldn't wait to arrive at our Bed and Breakfast, Lambs Rest Inn. When we finally arrived we grabbed all of our hundreds of bags, full of food, a lot of alcohol, pillows, air mattresses, and of course our luggage. We came right in and made ourselves at home and we got ready for our first night out on the town. We decided to take it easy since we drove all day and still had many more days of fun ahead of us. After an amazing dinner we headed back to our B&B and went to sleep into the rainy night. I woke up that morning and went to grab my phone that was charging in the hallway and to my amazement I woke up to our room being flooded. I woke everyone up and Laura was floating on about 2 inches of water on her air mattress. (Laura was the only one to float the river this trip) So we started packing our stuff up quickly and bringing it all up stairs, and we had to quickly leave and we set out to go up north to San Antonio. We arrived at our new hotel and we were staying in a beautiful suite. We definitely continued to have a good time, but unfortunately Allison wasn't feeling so good so we had to play with out her for one full day. After drinking sangria, laying out at the roof top pool, and going to amazing dinners, and watching a very talented belly dancer the trip turned out to be a blast. Of course to put the final touch on our trip when valet brought our car around we had a flat tire, go figure. So an hour later after the valet guy fixed our tire we were on ou way back to Houston. Can't wait for next year girls! :)
